RED HEIFER, A NOVEL BY LUTHER BUTLER
Saturday, January 03, 2004
Is the Christian world correct in picking one group of people to stigmitize? Christians commit adultery, they fornicate, they lie, cheat, and do all the other things the Apostle Paul told them not to do. Some ministers are divorced and remarried with two living wives, but they are allowed to preach in churches. Homosexuals have been branded as people who cannot serve in most churches. They are not to be counted among the saved. The Red Heifer makes an attempt to face this duplicity in the Christian faith. ¶

REFERANCES: "COMMENTS ON HOMOSEXUALITY BY AUTHOR OF RED HEIFERMy novel, Red Heifer, was not written to encourage people to become homosexuals. Perhaps this quote will give some insight into my stand.John 316 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.AND WHOSOEVER MEANS GAYS AND LESBIANS ALONG WITH ALL US OTHER SINNERS." ¶

This former Jewish Pharisee renounced the legalism of the Old Testament. The misshaped follower of Christ proclaimed all men and women were equal in the new kingdom set up by the followers of Christ. Why did he place a curse on bisexuals, lesbians and homosexuals that threatens to divide modern Christianity? Was there a character flaw in Paul's life? In his youth, did he experience a traumatic experience that caused him to place a stigma on at least ten percent of the United States' population? Read the Red Heifer to receive provocative answers to these questions. "Red Heifer is an astounding book.
