Questia Online Library - The Online Library
Since an intense study of the Apostle Paul to write my novel, Red Heifer, I have done some thinking about the Apostle. These are some threads I'm chasing on this topic.
The seven churches (Revelation chapters 2 and 3), located in Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea, were listed in their geographical order along an ancient triangular highway route in what is today eastern Turkey, touching on The Aegean Sea. The island of Patmos was just off the coast.

Paul was at stoning of Stephen.
Double agent of Shanhedrians and Pharisees.
Not one of the Twelve.
Writer of Revelations on Patmos writing about the Seven Churches of Asia minor and the seven hills of Rome.
Explore who wrote Revelations.

1.The seven churches in the Book of Revelation are seven churches Paul started on the west coast of the modern country of Turkey. Whether any of these churches survive today I'm exploring.
2. The area where Paul's seven churches were started is mostly Muslim. Historically, Paul's work in Asia Minor was a failure. Why did this happen?
3 The Book of Revelation was traditionally and internally claimed to have been written by a man named John who was a prisoner on the Isle of Patmos which is off shore from Paul's Seven Churches. Why did a Jewish Christian who has been named as the Apostle John write about Paul's Seven Churches of Asia Minor and the Seven Hills of Rome in the same letter?
4. According to Right Wing Christians I'm a heretic for exploring the above areas, but can't the Holy Writings of Christianity stand up to the same critical study that all other writings are subjected to?
5. Why probe into Paul's ancient writings? A.Modern impact on same sex relations.
B. So called Right Wing churches are basing their validity on the writings of Paul and are beating Liberals over the head with these writings.

The novel Red Heifer is the result of years of studying about why the Apostle Paul condemned same sex relations.
